  Visited here a few times, most of the people were friendly enough. However, it doesn't take long to figure out that a family runs this church. The music is dead (not even a piano player) and they have not had a pastor in a very long time, mainly because the aforementioned family does not want anyone in the church who may be a strong personality and change the way things are done. The head deacon, a member of the family, is calling the shots and the church's by-laws have been rewritten to give all authority to the head deacon, not the pastor, which is in direct conflict with scripture. Sometimes they get a good fill in preacher, but if the powers that be decide he is a threat to their position, he is not invited back or considered for the pastorate. This is the kind of church that brings shame and reproach upon the name of Christ, if you are looking for a church home or searching for a pastorate I can sum it up in one word, RUN!! There is a very good reason this church split and there is another baptist church a 1/4 mile up the street.

  Lovely church in a small community. Only doing a review because they only other one on here is by someone who is upset that they were not chosen for the church and are very bitter about it. I am not a member but have gone in the past and only had pleasant experiences here. The church members are all nice and welcoming. Regardless of who is preaching you can feel God moving in this church. As for it being no wonder that there is another Baptist church just down the road well toss a rock in this area you will more than likely hit a Baptist church so that is no surprise. I know of 7 within five miles of the Wheaton area.
